Study Smarter, Not Longer: How to Score Better in Engineering

Arya College of Engineering & I.T. says engineers are well-equipped theoretically and practically with numerous lab practices and exams, and the result of their learning does not depend on the number of hours of learning but on the proper use of this time thanks to the correct understanding and application of theoretical knowledge and the formulation of specific study objectives for each session instead of vague objectives like "to learn electronics" and, for instance, instead of that, give yourself certain actions as goals, e.g., to complete five tasks or to memorize the theorem without consulting notes.

Secondly, substitute simple repetition with active recall and, after studying the material, put away all your notes and try to write down all important points about it from memory and After that, compare the notes and see the points that were not memorized. In technical disciplines, complete exercises without using any examples; this will allow you to identify your mistakes and be ready to solve new types of problems. Try to explain the theory that was learned to another student aloud – it is a good way to test your knowledge and active recall and constant practice are highly effective ways of studying for engineers.

As engineering largely relies on practical considerations, try to solve as many numerical problems as possible and do past exam papers. Make an "error log" where all the errors you have made are written down along with the reason for each of them. You may have made mistakes because of incorrect unit conversion, incorrect assumptions, and the use of an incorrect formula for particular situations.

Concentrated studying can be achieved when distractions are reduced and you study for 25-30 minutes and then take a short break and continue the next session focusing on one subject or one assignment. Group studying works best, especially if there are people who can help you see another way of solving problems.

The final point is that you need sleep and breaks because you cannot concentrate without those things. If your brain is tired, you will not be able to concentrate.

What is needed to do is not to study all your free time but to make sure that all of your study sessions are efficient. Set yourself some goals and remind yourself of everything you know, use it and practice it.

Is Quantum Computing The Next Revolution

Arya College of Engineering & I.T. says Quantum computing shows immense promise as a revolutionary technology due to its potential to solve intractable problems in fields like drug discovery and optimization, but it faces significant hurdles before widespread impact. Recent breakthroughs in error correction and qubit fidelity mark real progress toward practical utility. Core Principles Quantum computers use qubits that leverage superposition and entanglement to process multiple states simultaneously, unlike classical bits, limited to 0 or 1. This enables exponential speedups for specific tasks, such as factoring large numbers via Shor's algorithm or searching unsorted databases with Grover's algorithm. However, qubits are fragile, requiring near-absolute zero temperatures and precise control. Key Achievements Google's 2025 Willow chip demonstrated scalable error reduction—more qubits meant fewer errors—while IonQ achieved 99.99% gate fidelity on 36 qubits, ou...
